About this blog…

Hi, my name is Dee. I could start with the normal blog intro of who I am and tell you a bunch of stuff about my life, but I’d rather not bore you right off the bat (we can talk about that later, or you can read more here) because, I want you to come back again and again and talk with me about Jesus. That’s what this blog is about and why I am even writing it – my life with Jesus.

……”Let’s talk about Jesus, the King of Kings is He. The Lord of Lords supreme throughout eternity”…

Life is about choices. Some bad, some good, and some utterly ridiculous! I’ve made them all, more than once. This blog is not about those choices but it is about where I am now. This is me today – a lover of God, a follower of Jesus. I’m not just trying to finish the race, I am planning on running right across that finish line as fast as I can, with as many as I can take, right into the arms of our Savior!

The most valuable lesson I have learned in the past ten years? DO NOT LOOK BACK! There is no future in the rear view. Take the hand of Jesus and keep on walking (or running, or driving) step by step, day by day. Read these passages if you’re not convinced that is the way to go: 2 Cor. 5:17, Is 43:18-19, Ex 23:20, Job 17:9, Philippians 3:13-14, or find your own favorites and read them to yourself daily – until you get it.

If you are just starting out in adult life, then my advice? “Choose well – choose God!” If you’ve ended up with a basket of lemons – “Make lemonade.” If you feel like you’ve done it all, you’ve made that lemonade and you’re just tired – “Don’t Stop – there’s more!” You think you’ve missed it? Too young to have a dream? Too old to act on your dreams? Feeling useless and stuck, found yourself in an unexpected situation? Heart-broke; devastated; disappointed? Been there! Single again, lonely, bored, no vision? Been there! Been there! It’s not for everyone but I say; Buy (rent or borrow) a Jayco and hit the road! It doesn’t have to be permanent, but it’s a great way to get out of your comfort zone, meet some new people, see the sites in our beautiful country, and make some new memories.

In my 60’s, single (again) and traveling around the country in a 16’ Jayco… everywhere I go I meet at least one individual that will ask the tough question – “why?”

Brown wire basket full of fresh picked lemons sitting on on the ground in a beautiful lush green yard.

So often I have verbally stumbled seeking to articulate an intelligent answer that eventually just left me sounding more like I was trying to make excuses for my choices. The truth is, I never dreamed, thought, or planned to be in my 60’s living in a Jayco travel trailer – running around working for a plethora of companies – nor doing it alone! Neither did I just wake up one day and decide that’s what I would do… my life just kind of morphed into it. Of course, out of choices, and desires, and decisions but mostly it just evolved into what it is now – a flavorful season with my Jesus. Who knows if this season will take me through to eternity or just the next season – does that matter?

I did finally come up with that one intelligent answer, well at least a shorter accurate one:

“I’m just trying to make some lemonade, y’all!”

Forest Gump may have had a box of chocolates, but I had a basket full of lemons!

That was me a few years ago – now? I made that lemonade and moved on. My answer now? “I am just trying to make each day worth something!”

When I wake up in the morning, open my eyes and realize I am still here on this earth, I know God has some purpose for this day – and I am going to do my best to find it. To make this day worth something eternal!

Whatever you do, going forward from this very moment, do this: Don’t let go of Jesus! Stay the Course! Make each day count for something — eternal!

Thank you for visiting.
